Who We Are

First Class Academy was founded by two scholarship recipients in 2016. The goal was to provide the most affordable education without sacrificing quality. The private education market in Trinidad and Tobago is plagued by exorbitant prices with many losing sight of the primary goal which should be educating the future generations.

Mission

The mission of First Class Academy is to provide academic excellence in the form of well qualified teachers and a safe, learning environment, thereby helping our students develop and excel in their respective programmes. Its aim is to prepare students with the necessary skill sets for success in all future endeavours.

Our Staff

Director: Ms. M!

Ms. M is a National Scholarship winner who holds a B.Sc. Mathematics and Computer Science (First Class Honors), M.Sc. Economics, PG Cert. Higher Education and is a Project Management Professional (PMP). With over 20 years teaching and lecturing experience at the primary, secondary, undergraduate and post graduate levels, she is responsible for the oversight of First Class Academy as well as the coordinator of the Mathematics Department (SEA Mathematics, CSEC Mathematics and Additional Mathematics and CAPE Mathematics).

Director: Mr. A!

Mr. A is a National Scholarship winner who holds a B.Sc. Economics and Management Studies (First Class Honors), M.Sc. Economics, M.Sc. Econometrics and is a Project Management Professional (PMP). With over 12 years teaching and lecturing experience at the secondary, undergraduate and post graduate levels, he is responsible for the oversight of First Class Academy as well as the coordinator of the Business Department (POA, POB, Economics, CAPE Accounting, CAPE Economics and CAPE MOB).

Mr. Abdul

Mr. Abdul is the head of our Sciences Department. With a B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration with a Specialism in Oil and Gas and over 25 years teaching and industry experience as an engineer, he is responsible for Physics, Biology, Chemistry and CAPE Physics.

Ms. Poonam

Ms. Poonam is the head of the Languages Department. She possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature with Education as well as a Bachelor in Education degree. Over the past 8 years, she has garnered much experience teaching at several academic institutions and contributes to the delivery of the impeccable English Language rules and its various applications to the SEA examination. She also teaches CSEC English Language and Literature at the CSEC Level.

Ms. Shel

She possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies. Additionally, she has a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Youth Guidance. She has accumulated over 16 years teaching experience and is currently teaching at a school that consistently places in the top 100 for SEA. She contributes to the delivery of all primary school classes at our Academy.

Ms. Ameerah

She possesses a Bachelor of Education degree with Specialization in Primary Education. She has teaching experience at the primary level, with a focus on reading and comprehension. She has developed various tools to effectively assist students in reading, analyzing and assimilating information. She is very determined to assist students to develop their critical thinking skills which is of utmost importance in the SEA examination.

Ms. Nirupa

She possesses a Bachelor of Education degree along with a Certificate in Child Care. She has teaching experience at the primary level, always finding innovative ways through cutting edge teaching technologies to help students learn. She encourages creativity in the classroom as well as critical thinking to increase performance and boost children’s confidence.
